Hello,

I'm not sure if I need to notify anybody concerning the date of my departure, but just in case this is common procedure, I am letting you know that I will be leaving this country on [nästnästa vecka.]

I realize that you are disappointed in me for leaving my host family after six months rather than the required twelve, but frankly, I am disappointed in you too. Being my LCC, I would have expected you to have just a little compassion. I am no longer expecting you to support my decision, nor to understand it, but I am hoping that you can accept it. As immature as I may be, I cannot be the first au pair not to last the whole year. To be honest, I am suprised that I lasted almost a full six months--and yes, I am a little proud of myself for doing that, too.

I am not asking you to understand. I have given you my reasons and I do not want to waste your time. I wish you good luck in the future with the hope that the next time an au pair tells you that s/he is unhappy (whether it be with the Stravalles or any other host family) you will find it in your heart to try to listen, understand, and be a little supportive.
